It's a shame that ACORN couldn't have provided more busses or there would have been more - maybe as many as 3,100.

Our State Dept. is using undisclosed amounts of US tax dollars to build and renovate Islamic Mosques in 27 different countries. They do this under an ‘outreach’ program with the purpose of fostering ‘good will’ in Muslim countries. The state department will not reveal just how much they spend on overseas, foreign programs but a very reliable source told me most likely it is in the hundreds of billions. Here is the State Dept. This new move by the AFL-CIO finds hearty support from the People’s World newspaper, a publication dedicated to communism and the “direct descendent” of the communist Daily Worker newspaper. President Obama's EPA is already well down the path to regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act, something the act was not designed to do. It has a problem, however, because shoehorning greenhouse gases into that 40-year-old law would force churches, schools, warehouses, commercial kitchens and other sources to obtain costly and time-consuming permits. It would grind the economy to a halt, and the likely backlash would doom the whole scheme.

Nothing was heard from the Israelis accept the normal “this is unacceptable” response to Iran doing anything nuclear. And, although England, France, Germany, the United States and Israel apparently acquiesced on this point, it raises two problematic questions. The first is the obvious trustworthiness of Iran. They have been so sneaky since their revolution in 1979, the west understands that deception is part of their Koranic obligation to the infidel. The second concern is how much we can trust the Russians since this whole regulatory program depends on their willingness to check their lists twice to make sure Iran is not practicing a deception.

BP Begins to Remove Drilling Pipe

BP PLC said Saturday that it has begun an attempt to remove the drilling pipe from the ruptured well that unleashed the Deepwater Horizon spill. BP aims to remove 3,500 feet of drilling pipe before it can proceed to remove the blowout preventer and replace it with a new one. Thad Allen said that BP must by Sunday let the U.S. government know how it can remove the sealing cap and blowout preventer while keeping them sufficiently intact for investigators. U.S. officials "will take custody" of all equipment, Adm. Allen said. I find it interesting that the government intends to take custody of the BOP and not allow anyone to examine it from BP or the private sector. I remember a report of a section of riser pipe being discovered within the BOP. It couldn't have come from the riser attached to the wellhead. Is that what caused the BOP to fail? How did it get there? Is that why the government wants sole custody of the BOP, to hide the only remaining evidence of sabotage?

We can begin by pointing out that any number of Islamic practices which violate American law or promote an unhealthy social consequence can be banned, for much the same reason that polygamy was. Thus while we cannot charge someone with believing in Islam, we can stamp out many Islamic practices that are dangerous or abusive. The First Amendment does not protect religious practices that are illegal or made illegal, it protects only the beliefs themselves. And we can go much further at an organizational level, based on the Sedition Act of 1918 and the 1954 Communist Control Act , which give us some guidelines for cracking down on Islam.
