A Tale of a No-Spin-Zone Heartburn
By Rene Guerra
I went to bed past midnight, my stomach spinning like a top, with a horrible heartburn as if having gulped a cocktail of sulfuric and hydrochloric acid. Tired after a long, long day, and well in the wee hours of the morning, just when I was thinking about getting ready to abandon myself in the sweet arms of Morpheus, I made the terrible mistake of turning the TV set on.
There he was, Bill O’Reilly, in one of his Factor taped-repeats, interviewing Karl Rove about America’s ongoing stabilization efforts in Iraq . . . and then the ugly, burning pyrosis, as gastroenterologists call heartburn, began.
The peacock most of the time he is, O’Reilly flashed---for everyone to see--- his magnificent heap of erudite knowledge . . . in its entire shallow superficiality and small dwarfishness. There he was, spurting mouthfuls echoing unqualifiedly the sentiments of our ignorant masses about America's efforts in Iraq: “not worthy either blood or treasury,” they think, he pompously said.
But how can O’Reilly take our masses a prima facie when most of them can’t even find America on a fully annotated globe map? But there is a reason for it. The reason being that our masses are most seriously and extremely occupied, imbued in the pursuit of finding their selves...in intellectual crap, such as, for example, “American Idol” and the rest of television rubbish in vogue . . . while the Democrats and the rest of the Left rob them blind, taking over America under their very noses.
And then O’Reilly asked Rove with genuinely great apprehension---and Rove readily produced an exquisitely ratiocinated explanation---what’s so important about Iraq that it deserves so badly our blood and treasury. O’Reilly and a great majority of Americans don’t understand, much less appreciate, the vital importance of an American success in Iraq . . . or an unambiguous success in Iraq, better said.
NOTE: Unambiguous Success in Iraq = 1- Defeat of terrorists to insignificance or better, to inexistence, 2- Disarmament and disbandment of all militias, 3- Strengthening of the military and all other security forces, 4- Cementing effective democracy (democratic elections followed by participatory democratic governance), 5- Activation of the economy, 6- Further stabilization of the entire country; and 7- Enrollment of Iraq as an active ally in the rest of the global war on Islamofascism.
O’Reilly and our empty-headed masses should go to the library and then borrow, read and digest a book on world history; then they all would realize the pivotal importance in history of Mesopotamia, which is where Iraq is.
Mesopotamia has been a coveted crossroads in the heart of the Middle East for millennia. It was coveted by the ancient Egyptians, the Assyrians, the Medes, the Persians, the Greeks (Alexander made Babylon the capital of his empire a short time before his death . . . in Babylon, where he was buried), the Romans, the Mohammedans, the Mongols, the Ottomans, the British, the French, and now is being ardently coveted by Islamofascism.
And no, it is not about oil, as the Democrats and the rest of the left keep bleating; Iraq supplied us last year with only 3.70% of our oil and petroleum product imports, being in seventh place, after, in that order, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela, Nigeria and Algeria.
Unambiguous success in Iraq---that is, in the very heart of the Middle East, and with all the significance it carries---is a mortal setback for Islamofascism; it means denying Islamofascism historically rich Mesopotamia and petrodollar rich Iraq. Such a feat means a truly tangible beginning of the final defeat of global Islamofascism. Such an accomplishment would be to Islamofascism akin to what a wooden stake thrust through the heart would be to a mythical Dracula.
But that’s not what the Democrats and the rest of the left wish for America; they crave America’s total failure in Iraq. They want an artificial defeat in Iraq orchestrated by a Democrat U.S. Congress and a Democrat President Obama or a Democrat President Clinton. They want a repetition of Vietnam. That’s what they want, for it would debilitate America spiritually, bringing her down to her knees, thus making her an easier prey to their designs of socializing her.
Doesn’t O’Reilly realize also that, as crassly ignorant as our masses are, they have been easy prey to the anti-American propaganda unfurled by the Democrats and the rest of the Left, who started maligning and disparaging America’s efforts in Iraq even before Operation Iraqi Freedom was launched?
Furthermore, doesn’t he know what Lenin taught the Left about duplicity?
“A lie told often enough becomes the truth” Lenin commanded his disciples at the time, and his disciples in the future, when sending them out with marching orders to lie through their teeth for the supreme cause of spreading socialism and communism.
The thing is that the Democrats and the rest of the Left entertain the treacherous notion that an America irrecoverably weakened by a cataclysmic failure in Iraq and in the rest of the global war on Islamofascism would be easier to socialize, for our frivolously oblivious masses seem already conditioned well enough to take that and more. By the way, it isn’t amazing how easily they have swallowed Al Gore’s manmade global warming hoax, or “climate change,” as so profoundly and gravely John McCain calls it?
And we should better take a deep breath, for the for Democrats and the rest of the Left must believe that they have already wrecked America enough to making her ripe for an overall takeover. They have already crippled America’s ethos with abortion on demand, runaway latitude on crime, all-out corruption of marriage, spousecidal use of euthanasia as epitomized in the Terry Schiavo case, and all the rest of ignominies they have made routine, and even fashionable, in America.
O’Reilly and other pundits who have emancipated themselves from the jaws of the Left should wise up and stop parroting the tired trite that the majority of Americans deem futile America’s stabilization efforts in Iraq, for it was the Democrats and the rest of the Left who duped our masses into believing it to be the truth.
O’Reilly and other liberated pundits should stop reechoing, as well, the rut the Democrats and the rest invented when calling such stabilization efforts “the Iraq War”. The Iraq War ended on April 9, 2008, the day Baghdad fell, just three weeks after Operation Iraqi Freedom started. America destroyed Saddam Hussein’s regime completely in just three weeks! America is now fighting the destabilization labors emanating mainly from (1) Wahhabism, with main seat in Saudi Arabia; (2) the Muslim Brotherhood, with main seat in Egypt; (3) Shiite fundamentalism, with main seat in Iran; and (4) the remnants of the surviving strand of Baathism, with main seat in Syria. It is until America addresses frontally---not necessarily militarily only---those four main sources of Islamofascism, that the al-Qaidas of the Muslim world will cease popping up, as will other manifestations of Islamofascism.
Our emancipated pundits, including O’Reilly, along with our thoughtless American masses should understand, once and for all, that all Muslim terrorist entities are, one way or the other, just mere manifestations, in varied degrees, of one or more of the main four sources of Islamofascism, regardless the forms and names they take: Al-Qaida, The Taliban, the Iranian Mullahcratic regime, the Bashir al-Assad Syrian regime, Iraq’s Baathists and Saddamists, Muqtada Sadr’s Mahdi Army, Hezbollah, Hamas, al-Fatah, Fatah al-Islam, Islamic Jihad, al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigades, Southeast Asia’s Jamaah Islamiyah, the Philippines’s Jamaah Abu Sayyaf, and similar organizations in North West, North, and North East Africa, India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, South East Asia, as well as their franchises and associated freelancers in Europe, Canada and the USA.
Pundits who live outside the “mainstream” media, along with our heedless masses, should know that things went bad after the fall of Baghdad largely due to the combination of three main factors. (1) Unfortunately, G. W. Bush and his advisors---ignoring the most basic fundamental principles of war, as read in the classic works of Clausewitz and Jomini, which freshman cadets have as obligatory reading material---didn’t deploy the proper type and number of military and civilian assets for the occupation/stabilization phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom. (2) At the same time, the Democrats and the rest of the Left were intensively, vocally and massively undermining America’s efforts in Iraq calling it “an invasion,” “an illegitimate war,” “blood for oil,” “an imperialistic adventure,” and much more. (3) The combination of the two first factors constituted a golden invitation served on a silver platter to Islamofascism to descend upon post-Hussein Iraq and create mayhem, chaos and great bloodshed. Factors (1) and (2) came to cost us the lives of more than 4,000 brave, heroic soldiers, and buckets of billions of dollars.
The fact, nevertheless, is that the term “Iraq war”---along with its inherently harrowing connotation of a war---etches in the mind of our inattentive masses the perception of the raging blood rivers of WWII or worse, and the Democrats and the rest of the Left, via hammering on it on and on, have made it not only vox populi (in everyone’s mouth) but cogitatio populi (in everyone’s mind) as well.
The “Iraq War” is “a worthless, wasteful effort,” they, like a chorus of zombies and androids, repeat in unison.
Unconscionable is, however, that commentators and pundits outside the “mainstream” media---who are supposed to be savvy, but who in reality are not, such as O’Reilly---have fallen prey to the deception as well, and keep ceaselessly ruminating with all sort of cud that the Democrats and the rest of the Left feed them at complete will.
What a heartburn O’Reilly gave me to sleep on!
