Columnist JB Williams reasons logically and methodically in his "Open Letter to Fellow Conservatives"--pasted up below--why we, conservatives, must hold our noses tight and vote for McCain this time. In a nutshell, we don't have any other alternative in terms of casting our vote next November: We are standing between the tip of a sword and the rough surface of a stone wall...and leaning against the wall is better than leaning against the tip of the word.

There is much more in McCain's record that is lethal to conservatism than what JB Williams shows in a comparative table in his "open letter," as you can read at http://reneguerra.blogtownhall.com/. Nevertheless, barbwire knots in the stomach and all, we must vote for McCain.

That, however, does NOT mean that we conservatives will roll over on McCain or on the RINOs and professional leeches now controlling the RNC.

That's why the conservative cri de guerre for the 2008 elections should be:

1- Vote for McCain,

3- Attack politically Democrats, and any other leftist candidates, will all you got,

2- BUT campaign for, and give all your money donations directly to, core conservative candidates only.

However, 2012 should be completely different in terms of the Republican presidential nominee; in 2012 we must nominate a true conservative.

To that effect, we should reclaim the Republican Party well before the 2012 primaries. That, in turn, imposes that conservatives start immediately organizing physically from the county level up to preparing to present a coherent and systematic battle aimed at rescuing the GOP from the hands of RINOs and professional leeches.

Visit the website of Republicans for the National Interest (www.RNIAmerica.org), which is doing precisely that--i.e., organizing conservatives in county associations--and figure out how you can join the RNI movement, one of the main objective of which is precisely yanking the GOP from the hands of the clique that is destroying it. RNI says in its "About" webpage: "We strive also...in our determination to turn the Republican Party once more into a consistent political voice for traditionalism, conservatism, and nationalism."
