the go-ahead for Shell Oil to begin drilling three exploratory wells in the
Chukchi Sea, a move that opens the door for production in a new region of the

plan that allows Shell to drill up to three exploration wells during the
July-to-October open-water drilling season. The company's proposal calls for
using one drill ship, one ice management vessel, an ice-class anchor-handling
vessel and oil spill response vessels, the Interior Department said. The closest
proposed drill site is more than 60 miles to shore and about 80 miles from
Wainwright.

President Obama is not trying to lead America forward to recovery, prosperity
and strength. Quite the opposite, in fact. In September of last year, American

The debate on environmentalism --
specifically as regards the environmental movement itself -- has been marked by
confusion since the beginning. Criticism of environmentalist thinking tends to
confuse means with goals. Environmentalist reforms, however they are presented
and whatever they may involve, are simply means of pushing forward the Green
agenda. As for the goals inherent in that agenda...they are something else
entirely.
I never cease to marvel at the
environmental alarmists who create one “crisis”
after another using wretchedly bad “science” to support their scams. On Tuesday,
November 24th, the Global Footprint Network is going to “release new data on the
Ecological Footprint of 100 nations and humanity as a whole, and the current
ledgers are sobering.” Well, of course, they’re
sobering. Everything the Greens announce is sobering because, as you well know,
the oceans are rising, the glaciers and polar caps are melting, we’re running
out of oil, every animal on Earth is endangered, incandescent light bulbs and
global warming will destroy all life on Earth, yada, yada, yada.
Let us assume for the moment that it
became revealed that Barak Obama was not a natural born citizen of the United
States, proving that he was ineligible to be President of the United States. Ok,
now what? Would Obama be removed from office? Perhaps. Then what? Joseph Biden
would be our next President. Ok, then what? Would the United States be freer?
Would the States and the people regain their sovereignty stolen by the federal
government? Would America’s form of government revert back to its original
nature and character of 1787?
As a measure of how far Islam has come in its
stated goal of subjugating and/or destroying the Christian world, consider what
Winston Churchill wrote in The River War (First Edition, Vol. II). If
Churchill were alive today he would be horrified to see that Christianity has
not been “sheltered in the strong arms of science,” as he predicted, and that
the civilization of modern Europe has all but fallen to the forces of Islam. If
he could see the streets of London, Liverpool, and Manchester today, teeming
with hordes of Muslims, the unintended consequence of the British colonial era,
and if he could see the extent to which Muslim populations on the European
mainland are within striking distance of having effective political majorities,
he would see it all as an act of war and take steps to counter it.

combined expenditures on education, energy, homeland security and the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq.

The
Turkey That Is Obamanomics by Nancy Salvato Thanksgiving progressed in somewhat the usual manner. As the
afternoon passed into early evening, sleeping in; savoring our coffee; reading
the news; putzing around on the computer; and at least one of us (me) working
out in anticipation of moderating the inevitable consequences of splurging on an
inordinate amount of really good food, turned to picking up the pace in
preparation for Thanksgiving dinner with family. In contrast to our lethargic
morning agenda we rushed to prepare.
I have been having a nagging intuition lately that something
is not quite right about Barack Obama. I am not suggesting there is something
wrong with the man, per se. Nor am I talking about the crazy, even dangerous,
policies coming out of the White House. No, lately, I have been wondering if
Barack Obama is, in fact, the person who is actually functioning as President of
the United States. I mean, there's no doubt that he fills the position of POTUS
but is he really the one in command? The man actually seems lost at times. He
seems to be reacting to ideas about which he does not really have a clue.

week did nothing to reassure the families of 9/11's
victims.

On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee met to question
Attorney General Eric Holder about his decision to prosecute Khalid Sheikh
Mohammed and four others in criminal courts rather than military tribunals. As
the father of Todd Beamer, who died on United Airlines Flight 93, I was able to
attend that hearing. What transpired caused me great concern and shook my
confidence in our current administration.
Sometimes the biggest lies come under cover of a truth. Such was the case
this week, when Barack Hussein Obama proffered this observation about deficits:
"I think it is important, though, to recognize if we keep on adding to the debt,
even in the midst of this recovery, that at some point, people could lose
confidence in the U.S. economy in a way that could actually lead to a double-dip
recession." "Keep on adding to the debt"? From this, one might conclude that
Obama has never suggested such a thing, and is truly concerned about
deficits.

substitute for the “government option,” Obamacare fanatics are now pushing the
“trigger” option. Of course, any thinking Republican (which excludes Olympia
Snowe) sees right through this scheme. This new proposal to help Democrats pass
Obamacare is submitted by no other than Senator Olympia Snowe, (R-Maine), with
whom Republicans can do without. Under such an option, if agreed-upon goals are
not met by the insurance industry, then that would pull the trigger on
government-run insurance; thus keeping a government-run insurance plan on
reserve.

Supreme Court said the language of the Clean Air Act, defining "air pollutant"

Gladys Kravitz, played by Alice Pearce and then Sandra Gould. Gladys Kravitz
knew everything and nothing at all, all at the same time. Her advice was most

that she ever gave thought to not offering both to anyone and everyone with whom
she came in contact. As I remember the character I can't help but think that we
have a factionalist gaggle of Mrs. Kravitzs currently running our
government.

is that Obama has not released his birth certificate which the state of Hawaii
issues for all citizens born there. Instead, his campaign has only released his
certificate of live birth from the state of Hawaii, which is a document that
offers a summarized version of birth information that can be submitted by
foreign born people. During the 2008 presidential campaign, GOP nominee Senator
John McCain quickly released his birth certificate when liberal bloggers raised
questions about his eligibility to be president. McCain was born at a military
hospital in Panama. Obama could likewise put the matter to rest by releasing his
actual birth certificate, which would show, among other things, the place of his
birth and the doctor who performed the birth procedure.

Affairs is the next nail in the coffin of the First Amendment. In this position
Sunstein will have powers that are unprecedented and very far reaching; not
merely mind-boggling but with explicit ability to use the courts to stifle free
speech if it opposes Obama policies.

taking credit for credit card reform is one glaring deficiency of the new law;
it says nothing about interest rates credit cards may charge. One important
element failed to survive the trip through Congress. The Senate rejected an
amendment that would have capped the interest on credit cards. Putting a ceiling
on interest and fees is something that should have been done and it wasn’t. Even
the ridiculous cap Senator Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) proposed, capping total
interest and finance charges at 36 percent, was shot down.

enjoyment was inside the court room. The justices were tearing into lawyers

the federal feeding trough in an effort to gain access to the trillions of
leftist taxpayer funded bailouts. Numerous state governments have failed to

Governors should take careful note of what strings are attached anytime the

on cutting “Tri-care for Life” out of the Congressional budget. It’s the health
care program for military vets past and present. This is his means to provide
funding for things he promised during the campaign, regardless of who gets the

the Congressional Budget Office report (CBO) there is a strong recommendation to
eliminate this program. In Chapter 9, page 173, option 95, the titled is;

1856. As Sen. Charles Sumner (R-MA) denounced an attack by 800 pro-slavery
Democrats on the small abolitionist town of Lawrence, Kansas, he was suddenly
and viciously attacked from behind by Preston Brooks, a South Carolina Democrat.
Brooks struck Sumner over the head repeatedly with a cane… knocking him
unconscious… and when his Republican colleagues rushed to his side they were
attacked by other Democrats and a major fist fight ensued.

fires do the trick. Have you not seen a movie where one of the first things done

how much “damage” to the environment and how much global warming was caused by
wood fires burned since man learned how to make fire. Natural fires also cause
huge amounts of damage to the planet and can be assumed to be a major source of
global warming but laws declaring natural fires such as caused by lightening

Jonathan Mark I condemn Israel’s disproportionate attack on
Hamas because, so far, it has only lasted three days and I would like to see a
proportionate response that terrifies Hamas for seven years, the years that have
filled Sderot and neighboring towns with nightmares, death, amputations and
trauma coming from rockets and mortars fired from Gaza. Perhaps a proportionate
response would have Gaza’s leaders fearful of being killed every day for the
next two years, as Gilad Shalit has been terrified of torture and death every
day for the last two years in his solitary Gaza dungeon. A proportionate
response would have Hamas mothers and fathers as fearful for their children’s
lives as Shalit’s mother and father have been fearful for Gilad’s life.

money. Senator Everett Dirksen, a senator back in the age of reason once said “A

what the good senator would say now. We have gone well beyond the idea that a
billion dollars is “real money.” Today as we approach the age of socialism real
money is measured in trillions of dollars. Of course socialists don’t talk about
trillions of dollars; like in everything else they practice, success is achieved
by “incrementalism”.

OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS IS HAPPENING by Tim Wood I am a student of history.
Professionally. I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it
all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not

money from the Fed they can profit from even low interest loans they make, and
they will make very few of those to you and me types; it’s the big borrowers
that will benefit along with the fat cat bankers. With all the money at banks
disposal just try to get a zero-plus loan like the banks get from the Fed – you
wont even get a loan unless you don’t need one.

Nancy Salvato Anyone who is successful at forging
relationships has mastered the art of diplomacy. There are a few simple rules.
There is a time and a place for everything. You cannot change another person,
only yourself. You have to give to receive. Maintaining a balance of power is
probably the most difficult. If one person denies another a relationship, there
can be no balance of power because that person has taken all the control. Both
parties have to want the relationship for one to occur. Any parent soon realizes
that a dictatorial style will not foster loyalty or the intrinsic motivation to
behave within a child. At the same time, giving in to a child’s demands grants
the child all the power. A well-timed tantrum can put an end to a parent’s
agenda.

Israel’s
Disproportionate Response by
Jonathan Mark I condemn Israel’s disproportionate attack on
Hamas because, so far, it has only lasted three days and I would like to see a
proportionate response that terrifies Hamas for seven years, the years that have
filled Sderot and neighboring towns with nightmares, death, amputations and
trauma coming from rockets and mortars fired from Gaza. Perhaps a proportionate
response would have Gaza’s leaders fearful of being killed every day for the
next two years, as Gilad Shalit has been terrified of torture and death every
day for the last two years in his solitary Gaza dungeon. A proportionate
response would have Hamas mothers and fathers as fearful for their children’s
lives as Shalit’s mother and father have been fearful for Gilad’s life.

calamity and disorder are on the increase lately? Everything in our nation and
world currently gives the impression that it is coming apart at the seams; from
those dangerously high prices at the pump last summer, to the equal uneasiness
of such low gas prices at present, to the economic meltdown and dubious
"bailout," to the corruption eruption in Illinois, to the outbreak of a new war
in the Middle-East. And the list goes on. Even on that infamous date September
11, 2001, though a stunned America was momentarily uncertain of what its future
held, the general understanding was that the nation would identify the culprits,
take appropriate action to deal with them, and thereby ensure an eventual return
to normality.

almost always end up on the wrong side of important issues? From global warming
to taxation to foreign affairs, far too often they come down across the fence
from the best interests of America and her allies. The present conflict between
Israel and Hamas is a fine example. Essentially surrounded by enemies, Israel is
a peaceful nation in a rather unfortunate location. Through the course of their
history, virtually every truce, treaty and cease-fire agreement has been broken.
Not by Israel, but by their Muslim neighbors. Who can blame Israel for defending
themselves? Evidently former GA congresswoman Cynthia McKinney does.
Cynthia has called upon President-elect Barack Obama to "speak out against the
attacks on Gaza."

tolerates preaching overthrow of government; we didn’t

Gioia There was a time, now disparaged by liberals, when it
was considered un-American to advocate the overthrow of the United States.
Indeed, even congress thought so and launched investigations to reveal by
“outing” prominent people who harbored such thoughts and philosophies. Of
course, in today’s age of political correctness, and worse, those investigators
are defiled and the guilty are revered. Many of those discovered to be
un-American resided in Hollywood but others were in government and in classified
research. Our arch enemy at the time, the Soviet Union, advanced there own
research programs with the help of these “un-Americans.”

drastically affect our country but few are more insidious and far reaching than
his legislation to address “global poverty.” Obama said “Eliminating global
poverty remains one of the greatest challenges we face, with billions of people
around the world forced to live on just dollars a day. We can – and must – make
it a priority of our foreign policy ...” While in the senate our president-elect
Barack Hussein Obama (it’s ok to use his middle name now) joined with RINO U.S.
Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) to introduce the
Global Poverty Act (S.2433).
